At the gateway to Hadrian's Wall you will find Lanercost, a charming tea room and gift shop. Based at the northern-most point of the Roman Empire, Lanercost prides itself on providing visitors with information on the local area and heritage, accompanied by a wide range of home-cooked meals and delicious baked goods, all made on-site by an enthusiastic team.
Owners Victoria and Michael Farley make it their mission to champion other local businesses by selling their wares at the tea room, whilst ensuring that all guests receive the personal touch whether they are stopping off on a long journey or intending to visit the World Heritage site nearby.
Victoria says that care and attention to detail, "is what makes Lanercost different" and keeps customers coming back time and again. They pride themselves on their 'proper chips' which they serve as part of a locally-sourced menu and believe are one of their secret weapons to success.
