What is Shop Small?
Shop Small is a campaign created by American Express® that works with and promotes small businesses across the UK and encourages American Express Cardmembers to use their Card at participating locations.

In 2016 Shop Small was live from Saturday 3 to Sunday 18 December 2016.
What is Small Business Saturday?
Small Business Saturday® UK is a grassroots movement which highlights small business success and encourages people to shop locally and support small businesses in their communities. The day itself takes place on the first shopping Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses. In 2016 Small Business Saturday took place on Saturday 3 December 2016.
How is Shop Small different to Small Business Saturday?
Small Business Saturday is a national day which celebrates the important role that small businesses play in our communities. American Express, a founder of Small Business Saturday in the US and an active supporter of the grassroots movement in the UK, is encouraging people to go out and Shop Small and local on Small Business Saturday and beyond.

How can I register for the Shop Small offer?
The 2016 Shop Small offer has now ended.
What is the Shop Small Cardmember offer?
As an American Express Cardmember with a UK issued Credit, Charge, Small Business and International Currency Card, when Cardmembers registered their Card (at amexshopsmall.co.uk/shop-small-for-shoppers) and then spent £10 or more at participating small businesses, between 3 - 18 December 2016, they received a £5 statement credit.* There was no limit to the number of participating merchants at which they could benefit from the offer, but it could only be claimed once in each small business. Offer excluded Corporate, Prepaid and Cards issued through TSB Bank.
How many times can I use the offer?
There is no limit to the number of times you can receive your £5 statement credit – the more you shop, the more you benefit. However, you can only claim your credit once at each small business. For 2016 the offer has now ended.
When will I receive statement credits during the Shop Small period?
Statement credits are usually issued within 3-5 business days of qualifying spend, but may take up to 8 weeks to appear on your account.

Can Supplementary Cardmembers take advantage of Shop Small?
Yes Supplementary Cardmembers can participate in Shop Small. They simply need to create an Online Account (if they haven't already done so) and then register their Card for the offer. Please note that the offer is linked to the Card not to the Account, so every Supplementary Card holder must follow these steps.
